We are hoping for a Saturated Saturday here on the hill today. The BoM predictions have been a bit hit and miss and upside down in the last day or so with Apple Tree Flats getting hail and buckets of rain, Purlingbrook Plateau getting a shower or two and up the top, blue skies and fluffy white clouds?! Our mountain has always had different weathers on different levels on the same day and nothing seems to have changed this weekend!
The Men's Shed will open at 9am this morning with rumored plans to look at plans for a time machine over this mornings cuppa. Keep an eye on the phone box on Forestry Rd. If that goes missing, we'll know what the plans are and where to look for it!
If it's not bucketing down this morning, the Springbrook Tennis Club often meet for a hit at the courts behind the hall on Saturday mornings. Bring a brolly or maybe a snorkle if you're thinking of turning up to play this morning.
It is however, perfect weather for the Blue Crayfish Creatures! The SWAG wildlife talk this afternoon is all about the elusive Lammington Blue Crayfish. Starts at 2pm at the hall and includes coffee n cake afterwards! Always interesting and informative.
There's the Mens Shed Sausage sizzle at Bunnings Nerang tomorrow. There is also still a couple of spots that need filling so if you're able to help out, let someone from the shed know. Remember, fame, glory and a free sausage will be yours!
Here's hoping to fulfill our fire fighters fantasies with tank filling, waterfall recharging rain. In six months time we will be begging for sunshine and respite from the rain but at the moment, if Mother Nature wants to side with the guys from BoM, we'd welcome a bit of the wet stuff!
With a bit of luck we will get our saturated Saturday and get to spend part of the day listening to SWAG talks and the other under a doona with Netflix - both listen to rain drumming on a tin roof.
Have relaxing Saturday. Enjoy stomping in puddles and drive carefully on our roads today. They just got super slippery!
