Localities

Springbrook is a suburb, mountain and plateau in the Gold Coast Hinterland of South East Queensland. The highest point, known as Springbrook Mountain is 900 metres (3,000 ft) high.

The area offers excellent views to the Gold Coast and is known for its cliffs, waterfalls and forest walks, most of which are protected in the Springbrook National Park and by the World Heritage Listing status.

To the south of Springbrook is the Tweed Range, west is the Numinbah Valley and the Lamington Plateau. Both the Nimmel Range and Tambourine Mountain are to the north.
We have three distinct plateaus on the mountain loosely referred to as
  • Apple Tree Flat (from the join of Pine Creek Road and Gold Coast-Springbrook Rd to the rise past Apple Tree Park)
  • Purlingbrook (From the Fudge Shop to the Hall)
  • Canyon (everything past Old School Road)
Other localities you'll hear are Repeater Station Rd, Goomoolarah and Lyre Bird Ridge Road - all are "up the top," that is up on the top plateau above the Canyon village area.

The "Front Road" goes to Mudgerrabah and the "Back Road" goes to Nerang. Its about 40kms and 40 minutes to Nerang and about 20 to 25 minutes to Mudgerrabah.

The back Road is a favourite haunt of Police speed traps, both moving and stationary. Watch your speed on those straights. Its an 80km zone all the way to Nerang.

We are a village of about 700 people so its easy to get to know your neighbours. Make sure you do!
