Springbrook Community Notices

Love the way the community turns out to help each other when things go pear shaped. Thanks to Java and the Fudge Shop for opening up and providing sustenance and a place to hang for those stuck or attending last night fire. You guys are legends!

The painters have finished at the hall and the Solar Panel people will be back to to put the panels back up Monday and Tuesday so hopefully the hall will be able to reopen straight after that happens. We will keep you posted!

Weedbusters has another weed pulling and information session on Sunday, June 20th. Pop it in your diary and feel free to bring the kids!

Ladies Lunch is also coming up. June 11th. Pop the date in your diary. Details to come.

The Springbrook Holistic Heath Net work is also holding an event this June. Sunday, 20th 9am onwards at the hall. Free consultation with our local practitioners. Lots more info to come. Pop it in the diary as well!

The school will be looking for home made goodies for their bake stall for the Cross Country on June 16th. Baking to be delivered at school pick up on the 15th. Plan your contribution now. You don't need to be a parent to help out!

If pot holes, over grown roads or anything similar is bothering you, remember you can always email the council and let them know so they can fix it!

 Get involved.

Springbrook Community Notices

Don't forget the SMCA general meeting this Wednesday 7.15pm at the hall. Wrap up warm and come and hear the behind the scenes stuff you won't read on social media!! All resident welcome.

Numinbah Valley Rural Fire Brigade is having their Busy Bee at their Fire Shed on Saturday. Feel free to pop down and give them a hand to tidy and sort stuff. Sausage sizzle for those who turn up!

The Trash & Treasure Garage Sale Trail is happening again on the weekend of May 22 and 23. Register your Garage Sale for maximum exposure on springbrookhall@gmail.com and we will complie a list and publish it a day or so before so we can all plan our treasure hunting!!

The hall will close on Monday for at least three weeks while she gets some preventative maintainance done. The public amenities out the back will be closed during the working hours as well. Watch out for truck and workers if you're using the tennis court and Skate Park especially!

Lots of people on the roads today as they head for the hills for a Mothers Day morning tea. Keep your speed down so our volunteer emergency crews can have a few hours at home before the first call out today, please!

The Gem Shop on Forestry Rd still has lots of Mothers Day goodies if you haven't already been in and got something!

Check out the size of the cane toad on the SWAG page yesterday. Bit disturbing to find them as far up the hill as Canyon. There are good ways to manage cane toads. Check out Watergums website and see if you can keep them out of your neighbourhood and away from the National Park...

The Springbrook Voices Community Newspaper deadline is tomorrow! Get your articles, ads and contributions in today or tomorrow so it can get to the printers this week. Lots of really good community stuff coming in all ready. Make sure one of those pages has your contribution on it!

The Warrie circuit is still closed for those thinking of walking it this weekend. Due to open May 14th weather permitting.

Thank to the people reporting helicopters at the moment. It's incredible how many are flying over a world heritage listed National Park illegally...

Are you hearing the helicopters over our waterfalls recently? There is concern that these flights don't have permits to fly over our World Heritage Area and could be breaking the law, disturbing our forest and destroying our local peace and serenity.  If you hear them, please log their time and duration on the SMCAs daily post so we can log them.

Thinking about Mothers Day? Want to buy local? We have lots of gift ideas right here on the mountain. Check out our cafes and road side stalls for lots of local products such as Youngs Rasberry Vinegar, Greenwood Farms Chutneys and Jams, Springbrook Honey, local macadamia nuts, locally grown kiwi fruit jam, teas, herbal teas, hand made candles, clothes, books, accessories, local art, plants, cards, kids toys, jewellery, fourty flavors of fudge, gemstones (The Gem Shop is an Aladdin's cave of shiny things).
