The Springbrook Community Notices

The Chamber of Commerce meeting is on Tuesday night, 7.30pm at the hall. All business owners welcome!

The Springbrook Community Library is on this Friday, 1pm to 3pm at the hall. Pop in and grab a book or 10 and get plenty of books for a rainy day!

State of Origin games start next week so the SMCA meeting has been changed to Wed 15th June, 7.15pm at the hall. We hope to have TMR there to answer questions about the front road that night!

Springbrook Voices is looking good and should start hitting letterboxes late next week!

Let's try and keep the Emporium a bit tidier. It was meant for small hand held goods, not furniture and beds. Clothing is not doing well in their either with all this rain...

Looking for a book to read? Have you seen the Book Nooks yet? There's one in Kuralboo St and one at 2353 SB road between Forestry Rd and the school. Drop in and check out what there. You never know when someone's dropped off a treasure!

New on the mountain? Check out this website full of great local info. www.lovespringbrook.blogspot.com

If you have mould, try pouring boiling water over cloves and waiting for it to cool. Then drain and use the water as a spray for removing mould. It may take a few applications to kill it but cloves kill mould spores, not just bleach them!

Get the windows and doors open and let the sunshine in the house today. Bear some skin and get a dose of vitamin D today if you can. Let's make the most of the sunshine. We are in for a wet Winter...

Check your gutters and rooves for leaks in this break in the weather. Could be a great day to gurney moss off pavers today too!

How are your fire wood supplies? Remember Echo Valley has some!

Stay safe. Get involved.

The Springbrook community Notices

Looks like we have a new Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, but the same Federal representative, Scott Buchholz this morning after yesterdays Federal election. Very handy for us. We'll be able to start asking Scott straight away for the extra money for a pedestrian bridge on our footpath!

Great Election Day at Springbrook School yesterday. How many people that come out of the woodwork to vote did you catch up with? And slippers? How many people voted in their slippers? Thanks to our locals who made it welcoming and fun!!

Well done to the P&C for running such a yummy BBQ and bake stall yesterday! Hope you raised lots of cash to send our kids on camp in Term 4!

This month's community cuppa is on THURSDAY, 10.30am at Dancing Waters Cafe. Come along and get out of the rain and catch up with everyone!

Have you checked out the Netflix movie, Perfect Pairing yet? Shot down the hill in Numinbah Valley, it's full of places you know and landscape you will recognise! Watch it soon!

Another wet week ahead. Take it easy on the roads, tracks and backyards. It's pretty sodden and the leeches are having a ball!

Support your local cafes in the wet. They suffer when it rains, so invite a friend for a cuppa and enjoy a hot cuppa on a cold day!

Please dont take clothes to The Emporium. In this weather, they are getting damp and full of mould and are being chucked. Please take them down the hill to a charity bin!

Springbrook Voices is looking good and about to head off to the editor and printers this week. Thanks to all that contributed!

The Hinterlander's deadline for business ads is this Friday. Get your full colour or classified ad in asap editor@hinterlander.com.au

Next SMCA meeting is June 8th where we hope to have TMR staff here to show us the damage to the road and what they are doing to fix it. All welcome!

Stay safe. Slow down. Catch up!

Sunday 8 May 2022

The Springbrook Community Notices

Looks like a shed load of rain next week. Abandon all hope of mowing and start thinking about all those inside jobs you've been meaning to get too!

Pure Vibrations regular hours are Friday to Monday, 10am to 4pm. Drop in and see them if you haven't yet!

The Fudge Shop are trialling some new hours. They'll be open Wed to Sun 9am to 4pm for a little while to see how that works for them. Remember, they shut up early if there's a lot of rain about.

TMR have been in contact. They are looking at a date in the next fortnight to come up and show us images and footage of the slip and to give us an accurate time line. We will let you know when we know when.

Council gave us a call about the footpath to the hall construction. It's been pushed back to starting in September so hopefully it will be a wonderful Christmas present for us!

Remember to check out the candidate for Wright in the upcoming elections and come and vote in the upcoming Federal Elections. A great question to email them all and ask if would they throw in another half mill to get a proper pedestrian bridge for our footpath if they were elected?

Our ambos have been busy on the hill lately. In this weather they prefer the cosy inhome visits rather than the side of the road in the rain visits. Let's drive to the bloody crappy conditions so we don't have to chat to them with a damp backside and leeches on your legs!

Locals have seen a few snakes recently. They must be quite hungry after all the rain. Lock up your chickens and any small tasty pets!

Please remember to check what bin is what at the tip so we keep our green waste green!!

Pat is back from his break and keen to get back to work so if you need yard work or Handyman work done, call him on 0487670111.

Stay safe. Get involved. Meet people face to face.
