The Springbrook Community Notices

Springbrook Markets are on today!!! At the Fudge Shop on the grass, it's a great opportunity to get hand made local presents right here on the mountain! Drop down and say hi and grab a sausage from the sizzle as well! 10am to 3pm!

💝 Please be kind this week, especially to our business owners. We are all trying to muddle along in these strange and confusing times. We can still enjoy relationships, find way to meet and gather together without making others feel bad. We've always been a community of diverse and divisive people but we are a community that can stick together. Let's have our opinions and respect others who have different ones. It's Christmas and we are Springbrookians, lucky to be living in the best little village in the world! 💚 🌎

All our cafes have takeaway options and have been really quiet this week. Drop in and say 👋 this week. Next week the chaos begins!

You HAVE to visit the Gem Shop this week. If you are looking for some reasonably priced but really cool gifts, then this is the place to visit. We heard even Santa shops there! 💎

The road side stalls have something for everyone and it's worth the trip around them all for your Christmas Shopping! There's everything from lip balms to scrubs, smudge sticks and incense, tea and dried herbs, clothes, jewellery sauces, jams, pickle, Kim Chi and soooooo much more! Get thee to a Springbrook Road side stall today. There's a list in Springbrook Voices if you don't know where they are!

The week before Christmas has been quieter than expected on the roads (to the delight if the volunteer ambos 🎉) but traditionally, we pick up on Boxing Day and things go mad. Make the most of the peace and quiet. It won't be for much longer...

Most of our groups have finished up for the Christmas Break but if yours are still going, make sure we know so that we can go tell it on the mountain 🎶 (You're showing you age if you know that song! 😉)

If you are new to the mountain, welcome! Join in and get involved. You'll soon get to know us (and 💚 us!) Have a look at this website for lots of local info www.lovespringbrook.blogspot.com

Be kind.

Last Ladies Lunch of the year this Friday 12pm at the Springbrook Cafe and Bar. All ladies welcome. Bring your kids, wear your Christmas bring have some fun!

It's the last few days of Janine and Mark at the Sitting Room!? Make sure you drop in and say goodbye as they are off to spend more time with family. Tuesday is their last day open to the public... 😔

Next Springbrook Markets are next weekend, Sunday December 19th. Great chance to get some local gifts from some of our talented locals! Stalls only $10. Talk to Java at the Fudge Shop if you are after a stall!

Cleaner needed for 4 hours on a Monday for an older couple near Purling Brook. If you're interested, call Christa on 0411 339 765

Please be respectful to the Springbrook Voices deliverers! One of these lovely people was abused and allegedly videoed while delivering our wonderful local newspaper yesterday. A bit of over the top behaviour for doing a community service. Very un- Springbrookian. 😔

Both the Springbrook Cafe and Bar are looking for staff for the Christmas Holidays and beyond. If you're interested, drop in and chat to them!

Have you checked out the Christmas lights around the place? The Springbrook cafes and Bar on Forestry Road has a good set up and so do the residents at 2279 SB Rd. Make the effort to enjoy them after dark some time soon!

Mini yoga, pilates, gong shower and forest walk retreat today, starting 10am at the Hall. Talk to Tanja if you want to know more!

Most community groups are wrapping up for Christmas now and will start back up in the New Year, check your copy of Voices for our usual compliment of groups and activities so you know what you'll be doing next year!

Keep an eye on our school and any empty houses over the Christmas break. Springbrook will be filled with people visiting and not all have come to look at the beauty of the bush, but to look for unlocked doors and opportunities... Get your neighbours numbers and watch out for lurking strangers...

It goes without saying, the roads will be a nightmare for the next six weeks. Take it super easy on the roads!

Stay safe. Get involved

The Springbrook Community Notices

Wonderful Weekend with a couple of live music events, food and fellowship! Thanks to all that attended and bigger thanks to the table haulers, the extension cord finders, the dishwashers and the rubbish bin emptiers! We 💚 what you do!

Got a new fitness class starting on the mountain this week. It's a Yoga, Pilates, strength type thing for young and old, girls and guys. Try it out! Monday at 10am at the hall and Wednesday 5.30pm. Sounds easy. Should leave you sweating, Tanja says!

So so much happening at School this week! Make sure you've seen the school notices and are up-to-date!

Theres a formal farewell to Di on Monday... 😔 Di started cleaning at the school the day it opened in 1984. Yes, last century, making her the last of the original staff to leave! Well done Di, 37 years is a huge achievement!

There will be an SMCA meeting on Wednesday night. Really just an open Management Meeting and pretty informal to wrap up any outstanding business for the year. Please come if you're able to!

With the school holidays and the end of the year rapidly approaching,  the community things tend to wind down and many won't kick back in until February. But our tourist number sky rocket and its like a Sunday every day, especially on Sunny days. For some reason, Boxing day is very very busy! Put you driveway markers out permanently and prepare for mayhem on our roads!

Remember, there's a huge amount of Christmas Shopping you can do right here on the mountain! Check out our cafes for crafts, teas and honey. Our road side stalls for jams, produce, crafts, plants, nuts and more. The Gem Shop is an Aladdin's cave of Treasures, you MUST check it out. Damo does some amazing artwork. Track him down and check it out! Support our local businesses!

Looks like lots of rain heading our way with La Nina dancing around in the sky in her rain dress at the moment. Prepare for power outages and SLOW DOWN on the roads. Let's leave the crown of "most road accidents attended by the Ambos" to Beechmont!!!

Decorate your letterbox! Make it Merv friendly!

Be part of the community!

With the summer influx of visitors starting to arrive on the mountain, remember to lock your house and cars up each time you leave them... Bins on the road, especially for airbnbs is a great way to tell the baddies you're not living in the house...

Lots of groups will start winding up in December for the Christmas Holiday break. Remember to check with your group to see when your start and finish dates will be!
