Smells like a smokey Saturday out there!

Smells like another smokey Saturday out there! Looks like the fires at Egg Rock and Nixons creek down in Numinbah have found a bit of fuel and flared up again. The Firies down in Numinbah have their eagle eyes on it but it's still within the giant containment lines they put in in September. Smokey but safe. NVRFB will let us know if it gets more exciting that a bit of smoke. Thanks for sorting that fire out guys n gals, its appreciated.

BoM's still got the Sunny but Smokey predictions rolling across the screen for the week but with rain predicted in tiny amounts next weekend! Let's see how that dice rolls as the week progresses.

Lots to do on our smokey Saturday with its complete fire ban in place.

The Springbrook Men's Shed is open from 9am this morning for all things blokey. Some of the boys were doing things with sheet metal yesterday which is worth a look if you are in need of something to do today.

The Springbrook Tennis Club often meet for a hit at the courts behind the hall on Saturday morning. It's a bit of a hit and miss affair but can be lots of fun.

SWAG has their last talk of the year today and it's about the Birds of Springbrook. Just turn up. 2pm at the hall. Coffee etc afterwards. Donations accepted. Books etc for sale.

The Springbrook Gardeners are meeting up for their Christmas Party/Summer gathering, 2pm at Keirons Place. Bring seeds, cuttings, seedlings and garden produce to share. Jams and other home made products are welcome too! Wear your Christmas shirt and hats!

Hope our tradie is back home and recovering well from his run in with the ladder. Looking forward to seeing you out and about once you've modified those crutches and wood paneled the moon boot of course!

Welcome to all the new home owners on the mountain. Dont be a stranger. Come and get involved in our vibrant, happy, busy, sometimes stroppy wee community. We'd love to meet you and get to know you.

Keep an eye on your Springbrook LDMC texts and their facebook page if the smoke is concerning you. They have direct contact with firefighters on the ground and know what's happening.

Enjoy your smokey Saturday!

See you there!
💚Springbrook
