Far out, its Friday!

Far out! Its Friday!! And boy does it look like we will have a few hot days ahead of us. No where near as bad as Brissy and their predicted 38° but not a refreshing 28° either...

So all this heat means that intead of being on storm preparations, we are back on fire lookout. Have you checked out the Springbrook LMDC facebook page and all its helpful information? Make it todays project to make sure you know what you'll do if the worst happens.

In the meantime, the School Gardening Project is on from 8am to 8.45am this morning. Students and parents welcome to come and dig, water and plant in the school vege patch this morning.

For those who love Yoga try out  Danielle at Solitude Retreat, 3376 Nerang-Murwillumbah Rd Numinbah Valley just past the Parks entrance to Natural Bridge at 9.30am today. It's a lovely class.

Our wonderful AA group meet at the hall 4.30pm on Fridays to help support people with issues around alcohol. If you're in need of a bit of support, just show up. Lots of people from the Coast make the trek as its such a good group.

Far out. Its gonna be a hot weekend with lots of potential for fires to flare up. Dont do anything silly this weekend. Keep us all safe, and be sensible. We still have the total fire ban signs up, so you can't say you didn't know. If you're not sure if your activity is appropriate or not, err on the side of caution and give it a miss. You don't want to be the one explaining to the fire chief how you thought it was ok as they look at you incredulously...

Friday is a great day for checking our both your fire plan and your storm preparedness. Got your torches full of batteries? Generator petrol handy? Food in the cupboards? Enough medication for a week or so? Then you're most of the way there!

Enjoy your Friday here in Paradise and get out and meet people, especially if you're new up here. There's a lot to learn about our patch of the world and long term locals are full of information about how to deal with the variety of weathers that Mother Nature likes to throw at us!
