The Springbrook Community Notices

Busy week at Springbrook School. Make sure you have checked the email foall that's happening! Monday, Book Character Parade. Wednesday, Prep transition date. Thursday, science day bus trip. Friday, Public Holiday.

The Skate Park upgrade is looking fantastic. Make sure you pop in and have a look!

Please let council know on division9@goldcoastqld.gov.au if wheelie bins have been delivered to any unoccupied properties. There's a problem with the data not being up to date (hangover from paper files, fires, change of ownership and time) from when we were with Albert Shire. It would be nice not to continue advertising empty properties.

Yes, the Waste Department dealing with the bins, tips and fees is a council entity. No. it is not independent organisation. Just in case you were wondering.

Cuban Dance this coming Saturday night! 5.30pm at the hall. Contact Christina. Posters on the notice boards.

Springbrook Voices deliveries starting this weekend. Watch a letterbox near you for yours!

Public Holiday this FRIDAY for the Gold Coast Show. Long weekend ahead!

Don't forget to order your school fundraising pies. Thursday is the final day. These are REALLY good pies. (and doughnuts!)

P&C Fathers Day Stall on September 2nd at the school. Donations of gifts gratefully received. Contact the school or a parent to donate!

Pupil free day, Friday September 3rd for those who might need to plan for two long kid weekends in a row...

If you're keen on a bit of input for the new playground, email council on division9@goldcoastqld.gov.au and they'll pass on your ideas to the relevant department.

Get involved.

The Springbrook Community Notices

The Lockdown has lifted! Lots of restrictions still but we can leave our homes and enjoy meeting up with people again. Please check the Qld Health website for up-to-date information!

Dancing Waters, The Sitting Room, The English Gardens, The Fudge Shop and the Springbrook Cafe and Bar will all be open their usual hours from 4pm on Sunday. Please make the effort to support them after their week of enforced closure!

All of our groups are operating as usual this week but request that you wear masks were required!

Have you had a look at Springbrooks newest Book Nook yet? Situated outside Greenwood Farm at Goomalarah is the brand new, Upper Springbrook Book Nook. Filled with books and magazines it's ready for you to visit at your earliest convenience. Great destination for a walk, and of course you can get all of Greenwood Farm & Co's yummy goodies at the same time!

Congratulations to Springbrook School for winning the aggregate points competition at the Hinterland School Athletics Carnival just before the lock down. It means we have more sports people per head of the school population than the other small schools! Go Springbrook!

SMCA meeting this Wednesday 7.15pm at the hall. Anybody welcome. Just turn up!

Springbrook Voices deadline is Tuesday August 10th. Please make sure your contribution is in that day at the latest.

Ladies Lunch this Friday, 12pm. Location yet to be confirmed.

Friday the thirteenth this week. Beware those who are superstitious!

Check out this website if you're a new local and not quite sure how Springbrook "works". Lots of great information about all things Springbrook! www.lovespringbrook.blogspot.com

Please watch out for the wildlife on the roads. After a week of very few cars, the paddymelons are getting bold and then bowled... It's 60km all over the mountain. 80km once you're down the bottom.

Weedbusters meet this Sunday for weed identification, weed pulling and weed education. Always interesting. Always fun. 9am to 11am at the Settlement. Check their Facebook page for more info!

Get out and about this week. Enjoy being able to!
