TMR reckon they will have an update on our road early next week! They have pictures and info about what's happening and assured us that work is being done on the road. Check out the new security cameras at each end and know they are serious about prosecuting unauthorised people come onto the site.

Chamber of Commerce meeting coming up on August 9th, 7.30pm at the hall. All business owners welcome!

The P&C are meeting this Thursday at 8.10am, in the Music Room at the school. They would love to see more parent there just so they can have some input. It's always interesting and gives you an insight into how the school runs as well. Just turn up if you're interested!

The Emporium is looking pretty amazing at the moment. With the amount of people doing the right thing it's looking good and it's easy to find things and to drop things off! Lots of great womens shoes there at the moment along with a few chairs. Good lot of books to for our book worms! Hold fire on your clothes donations. We should be getting a clothing bin in a couple of weeks which might just solve the problem!

Remember to throw rubbish into the OPEN bin at the tip not the CLOSED one. The idea is  to fill one bin at a time rather than council coming up for 2 half empty bins each time.

If you live on roads where tourist parking at Purling Brook or Canyon is a problem, keep an eye on those fb pages that are talking about it. Cr Tozer is seeking clarification about what exactly is a verge.  Down on the coast its illegal to park on verges but we might not have "verges" up here in certain places it seems...

Community Cuppa this Friday, 10.30am at the Springbrook Cafe and Bar. All residents are welcome to come and enjoy the company of other locals. It's a great way to meet people and to catch up with those you haven't seen for a while!

The Springbrook Community Notices

We've got the Kokoda runners and walkers heading up and over Pages Pinnacle, around the Pine Creek Road Intersection and in Numinbah Valley most of Sunday. Watch out for them and take it easy when you see them. They should be finishing their 96 km overnight run today!

Thinking of heading off to Weedbusters today? Make sure you get there for 9am as once they've had their briefing, they are headig off to a local property to bust some serious weeds. We hear there is coffee and scones on offer for the helpers who turn up tomorrow!

The Emporium is looking pretty amazing at the moment. With the amount of people doing the right thing it's looking good and it's easy to find things and to drop things off! Lots of great womens shoes there at the moment along with a cot and bassinet. Good lot of books to for our book worms! Hold fire on your clothes donations. We should be getting a clothing bin in a couple of weeks which might just solve the problem!

The very first BLUE LIGHT DISCO is happeniing at the hall next Saturday night! It starts at 5.30pm and finishes at 7.30pm. The cost is $2 per child and its fully supervised by Police and blue card volunteers.

The Springbrook Cafe and Bar will be open next Saturday forparents looking for a kid free night to get out for dinnerfor a few hours!

Remember to throw rubbish into the OPEN bin at the tip. The idea is  to fill one bin at a time rather than council coming up for 2 half empty bins each time.

We have confirmed a council worker to talk about Vegetation and how its cut back as well ad someone to talk about the new foot path and Bridge at our next SMCA meeting on July 20th, 7.15pm at the hall.

If you live on roads where tourist parking at Purling Brook or Canyon is a problem, make a sign to direct them to the acres of parking at the Settlement and stick on your fence or make use of your wheelie bin. Down on the coast its illegal to park on verges but it seems not so up here...

There seems to be trouble with the new footpath. It looks like there's not enough funding to give us a foot path as well as a bridge, so we will have two foot paths that lead to a vehicular causeway. That leaving a lot of us scratching our heads asking, really? πŸ€” We need to have a chat with TMR and Council to see what can be done about this!

Stay safe. Stay on your side of the road.
