Springbrook Community Notices

Slow down on Sundays! The Police and their radars are hanging out around here! Especially on our back roads, especially on Sundays!

The Springbrook Mens Shed is having another Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on Tuesday March 10th and also Friday March 28th at Nerang. If you are heading down the hill on Tuesday, pop in and say hi! They love to see Springbrook faces in the hordes as they line up for the onion first, sausage n bread!

Come along to a night of Cuban Dance at the Hall on Saturday night! Christina will teach you the dance steps, the attitude and really get you moving. A fantastic uplifting fun night for the whole family. Check out her posters around town for all the details!

Food Scrap Friday is our schools community composting day. 8am-8.30am at the front gate of the school. Bring your bucket of kitchen scraps to be weighed and emptied into the schools composting system. Anyone can join in. You dont have to be a member of the school community!

The Springbrook Afternoon Amblers meet to walk up Carricks Rd at 4pm each Thursday afternoon, drizzle or shine! Free. Meet at the Settlement Car park entrance to walk as far as they want up Carricks Rd. Kids n Dogs on leads welcome. Nice chatty group of ambling people!

Keep an eye out for kids on bikes and mums with prams this week before and after school as we get back into the school year. Its particularly tough as we dont have footpaths on many of our streets and the ones we do have a pretty rough. Also watch for that 40km zone in front of the school. You dont want to get booked there by a speed camera!

Tuck shop at the school operates on a term or weekly basis. Pop into Dancing Waters Cafe and pay for a term of Friday lunches and get a discount or just order and pay weekly when you need it. $5 per lunch, discount on the full term. GF, DF nut free etc all available.

Parents and visitors, please dont park inside the school during drop off and pick up times.  It creates an extra hazard for the children to negotiate.  Please park next to the school or across the road.

Food Scrap Friday is a community composting initiative run by the school and its P&C. Just bring your bucket of vege food scraps to the gate between 8am and 8.30am and the gardening project kids will weigh it, empty it into their compost heap and rinse the bucket before returning it to you at the gate. A great way to be involved even if you dont have kids at the school.

 See you there!
💚Springbrook
